INVISALIGN

 "Invisalign" is often called "Invisible Braces" or "Clear Braces" and replaces traditional braces, which use metal wires and brackets. The brand "Invisalign" is named to describe the process of "Invisibly Aligning" or straightening your teeth.  They are "invisible" or "clear" so they are minimally noticeable while you wear them to straighten your teeth, which is why they are also known as "Invisible Braces."   Invisible Braces are tight, well-fitting, plastic trays that sit directly over the teeth. Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and moves the teeth precisely, improving your smile.  Every 2 weeks, a new aligner is used until the desired tooth movement is achieved. Most Invisalign cases use 15-25 aligners and are completed in 7-12 months. Invisalign works amazingly for mild to moderate crowding or spacing.  Invisible Braces are fabricated for dentists by several companies, such as Invisalign, ClearCorrect, Dandy, and 6 Month Smiles. For severe crowding, we do offer a more traditional type of braces using ceramic brackets and white wires to make them as unnoticeable as possible, and are referred to as  "Cosmetic Braces." 

Once you have decided to improve your smile with Invisalign, we need to get some information.  This is all obtained in what we call the "records appointment."  Needed information at his visit include pre-ortho photographs of your teeth,  impressionsor scans of your teeth, and any needed radiographs.  This visit takes about 45 minutes. These records are then sent to have your aligners fabricated. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the aligners to be made.

Woo-Hoo!   Time to start creating your beautiful Smile!  This visit usually takes about an hour.  Your first 2 sets of INVISALIGN aligners are tried in and given to you.  If "buttons/attachments" are needed to help move teeth more efficiently we place those on your teeth at this appointment. We discuss aligner care and how to be the most successful while doing Invisalign.  Let's start making your smile beautiful!

4 weeks later will be your first "follow-up" visit. At each follow-up visit we check how well the aligner fits and make sure the teeth are moving as desired.  We will now give you the next 2 sets of aligners and you will be in charge of changing them yourself after 2 weeks.  After 4 weeks you will see us again and repeat the process until treatment is complete!  Each monthly follow-up visit only takes 15-20 minutes.

Congratulations!  You have finished Invisible Braces Aligner Treatment!
